Navratri Day 6: Maa Katyayani and the Power of Courage
Suddenly, the lights went out, and the Navratri stage fell into darkness! Will Veda find a way to save the celebration before everyone gives up?
In this story
“OH NO! The lights are out!”
Veda was helping decorate the Navratri stage when suddenly everything went dark.
The children stopped dancing. Some became frightened.
“How will we celebrate now?” asked Veda’s friend.
Veda looked at the dark stage. She wanted to help, but she did not know how.

The Brave Goddess Maa Katyayani
Just then, Veda’s mother came with a small lamp.
“Don't worry, Veda. We can find a way,” she said.
Veda noticed a picture of Maa Katyayani near the stage.
“Mother, why does Maa Katyayani ride a lion?” she asked.
“Today is the sixth day of Navratri,” her mother explained. “We worship Maa Katyayani, a powerful form of Maa Durga. She defeated the evil demon Mahishasura to protect the world.”

“Her lion shows courage and strength. She teaches us to face difficulties without giving up.”
Veda looked at her green dress.
“Does green have a special meaning too?”
“Yes! Green is the colour of Navratri Day 6 in our celebration. It represents growth, hope, and new beginnings. It reminds us to stay positive and keep trying, even during difficult times.”

Veda Saves the Celebration
Suddenly, Veda had an idea!
“Mother, we can use small lamps until the lights return!”
With the adults' help, Veda and her friends placed safe battery-powered lamps around the stage.

Soon, the stage was glowing again!
The music started, and everyone began dancing happily.
Veda smiled. She had learned that courage was not only about fighting evil. It was also about staying calm and finding solutions when things went wrong.
Moral: True courage means staying calm, being strong, and facing challenges with confidence.
