Who Was Flying So High?
Early one morning, something amazing was happening in the sky.
A small child was flying high above the trees and through the clouds.
Higher and higher he went.
But why was such a young child flying so high?
And what was he trying to reach?
It all began when a hungry little boy went looking for something to eat.
A Very Special Little Boy
The little boy was very hungry.
His mother was away, so he started looking for food.
Suddenly, he saw something big, round, and red rising in the sky.
His eyes grew wide.
"What a huge, juicy fruit!" he thought.
But it was not a fruit.
It was the Sun.
And this was no ordinary child.
His name was Hanuman.
Hanuman Jumps Into the Sky
Hanuman wanted to eat the bright "fruit."
So he bent his knees and—
WHOOSH!
He jumped high into the sky!
He flew past the birds and through the clouds.
"Wait for me, golden fruit!"
He called happily.
Hanuman flew closer and closer to the Sun.
But someone had noticed him.
Something Goes Wrong
Indra, the king of the gods, saw Hanuman flying toward the Sun.
Worried that Hanuman was getting too close, Indra used his magical thunderbolt, the Vajra, to stop him.
The Vajra struck Hanuman, and he fell onto a mountain.
Hanuman became unconscious.
When Vayu, the Wind God and Hanuman's father, saw what had happened, he was very upset.
He carried Hanuman to safety and stopped the wind from blowing.
The Gods Save Hanuman
Without the wind, the whole world became still.
People and animals struggled to breathe.
The gods quickly came to help.
They blessed Hanuman with great strength, speed, courage, wisdom, and protection.
He was also given the power to change his size.
Indra felt sorry for what had happened and gave Hanuman a special blessing too.
Soon, Hanuman opened his eyes.
Seeing his son safe, Vayu allowed the wind to blow again.
The world came back to life.
A Little Boy With Great Powers
Hanuman had only been looking for food when he saw the Sun and thought it was a giant fruit.
That innocent adventure brought him powerful blessings that would help him in the future.
As he grew older, Hanuman became known for his strength, courage, wisdom, and devotion.
One day, he would become a brave helper and loyal friend of Lord Rama.
And it all began with one hungry little boy who wanted to eat the Sun!
