In this story

Every Diwali, families decorate their homes with beautiful diyas, colorful rangoli, and flowers.
They pray to Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha together.
But have you ever wondered why?
Goddess Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth and prosperity, while Lord Ganesha is the god of wisdom and the remover of obstacles.
So, why are they worshipped together?
A Special Question on Diwali Night
One Diwali evening, a little boy named Aarav was helping his mother arrange flowers near the puja place.
He noticed two beautiful idols.
“Mother, why do we worship Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha together?” he asked.
His mother smiled and said, “Let me tell you a little story. Then you’ll understand!”
“Imagine a man who receives a big bag of gold coins,” his mother began.

“He becomes very rich and can buy almost anything he wants.”
Aarav smiled. “That sounds wonderful!”
“But what if he spends all his money on things he does not need?” Mother asked.
“He might lose everything!” Aarav replied.
“Exactly! Having wealth is wonderful, but knowing how to use it is just as important.”

Why Lakshmi and Ganesha Are Worshipped Together
Mother pointed toward Goddess Lakshmi's idol.
“Goddess Lakshmi blesses us with wealth, prosperity, and good fortune.”
Then she pointed toward Lord Ganesha.
“Lord Ganesha represents wisdom and helps remove obstacles from our lives.”
“So Lakshmi gives us wealth, and Ganesha helps us use it wisely?” Aarav asked.
“Yes!” Mother replied.
“That is why many Hindu families worship them together during Diwali. We pray not only for wealth and success but also for the wisdom to make good choices.”
Aarav looked at both idols and smiled.
“Now I understand! Being rich is not enough. We must also be wise and kind.”
Mother nodded happily.

A Special Lesson to Remember
That evening, Aarav joined his family for Lakshmi-Ganesha Puja.
As the diyas glowed around their home, he remembered the special lesson.
Goddess Lakshmi reminds us of prosperity, and Lord Ganesha reminds us to use our blessings wisely.
And that is one important meaning behind worshipping them together on Diwali.
Moral: Wealth becomes more valuable when we use it wisely.
