The Victory of Good Over Evil

Lord Ram had spent 14 years in exile, living in the forest with Sita and Lakshman.

During this time, the powerful demon king Ravan kidnapped Sita and took her to Lanka.

With the help of Hanuman and the Vanar army, Ram fought a great battle, defeated Ravan, and rescued Sita.

Lord Ram stands with his bow beside Hanuman and the celebrating Vanar army as the defeated Ravan lies on the battlefield in Lanka.

Now, after completing 14 years of exile, it was time to return to Ayodhya.

Ram, Sita, and Lakshman began their journey home in the Pushpak Viman, a magical flying chariot.

Lord Ram, Sita, and Lakshman travel through the sky in the Pushpak Viman, overlooking green forests, rivers, and the distant city of Ayodhya.

The Night Ayodhya Shone with Diyas

As the news spread, the people of Ayodhya began preparing a grand welcome.

They cleaned their homes, decorated the streets with flowers, and filled the city with joy.

According to popular tradition, when Ram, Sita, and Lakshman returned, thousands of diyas were lit to welcome them.

Thousands of glowing diyas illuminate ancient Ayodhya at night as families and children celebrate Diwali near the beautifully decorated royal palace.

The dark night glowed with tiny flames. The whole city looked beautiful!

People cheered, smiled, and celebrated the return of their beloved Ram.

This joyful homecoming is one of the popular stories behind Diwali, the Festival of Lights.

Even today, families light diyas, decorate their homes, and celebrate the victory of light over darkness and good over evil.
