In this story
What Was That Crunching Sound?
Crunch... crunch...
Krishna opened his eyes.
He and Sudama were sitting under a tree while heavy rain fell around them.
Crunch!
“Sudama, what are you eating?” Krishna asked.
“Nothing!” Sudama quickly replied.
Krishna smiled. He knew his friend was hiding something.
But what was Sudama secretly eating?

A Rainy Day in the Forest
Krishna and Sudama were close friends studying at their Guru’s Gurukul.
One day, their Guru asked them to collect dry wood from the forest.
They took some roasted chickpeas for food and set off.
But soon—
BOOM!
A storm began.
The boys quickly took shelter under a big tree.
They were cold, tired, and hungry.
Sudama quietly opened the bag of chickpeas and began eating.
Crunch! Crunch!
“Are you eating something?” Krishna asked.
“No! My teeth are making that sound because I am cold!” Sudama replied.
But Krishna already knew the truth.
Sudama had been secretly eating the chickpeas!
Sudama felt ashamed because he had hidden the food from his friend.
Krishna did not get angry. He simply smiled and forgave him.
When the rain stopped, they collected the wood and returned safely to the Gurukul.
Sudama never forgot Krishna’s kindness that day.

Many Years Later...
Years passed, but Sudama always remembered his childhood friend.
Krishna became the king of Dwarka, while Sudama lived a simple life with very little money.
One day, Sudama decided to visit Krishna.
He had no expensive gift, so his wife gave him a small bundle of poha to take for his friend.
As Sudama travelled to Dwarka, he wondered—
Would Krishna still remember him after all these years?

Old Friends Meet Again
When Krishna saw Sudama, he happily ran to him and hugged him.
“Sudama!”
Krishna did not care about his old clothes or his lack of money. Sudama was still his dear friend.
Then Krishna noticed the small bundle.
“What have you brought for me?” he asked.
Sudama shyly showed him the poha.
Krishna happily ate it because it was a gift given with love.

A Beautiful Surprise
Sudama returned home without asking Krishna for anything.
But when he reached home, he was amazed.
His family now had everything they needed.
Krishna had quietly helped his old friend.
Sudama’s eyes filled with happy tears.
Years had passed, but their friendship was still just as strong.
