Where Did All the Colors Go?

Something very strange happened in Vrindavan.

One morning, the flowers were no longer red, pink, or yellow.

The green leaves had turned grey.

The blue Yamuna looked dull.

Even the bright fruits had lost their colors.

Soon, cows, birds, trees, and houses began turning black and white.

Krishna and worried villagers watch as Vrindavan slowly turns black and white.

Everyone in Vrindavan was shocked.

“What is happening?” the villagers cried.

Krishna looked around carefully.

This was not normal.

Someone was stealing the colors of Vrindavan.

But who?

Krishna watches as the colorful Vrindavan forest slowly turns black and white.

Krishna followed a trail of grey leaves into the forest.

The deeper he went, the fewer colors he could see.

Then he heard a strange laugh.

Kalarang drains the colors from Vrindavan as little Krishna watches the village turn black and white.

“HA! HA! HA!”

A demon stepped out from behind the trees.

His name was Kalrang.

He had a magical power. He could pull colors out of anything he touched.

Kalrang laughed and stretched out his hands.

WHOOSH!

Colors flew out of the flowers, trees, birds, and butterflies.

Everything he touched became black and white.

“I will take every color from Vrindavan!” Kalrang shouted.

But Krishna was not afraid.

Krishna confronts Kalarang as he steals the bright colors from Vrindavan.

Krishna Brings the Colors Back

Kalrang sent his dark magic toward Krishna.

But Krishna quickly lifted his flute and began to play.

A sweet melody filled the forest.

Suddenly, Kalrang’s magic stopped.

The colors he had stolen began swirling around him like a bright rainbow.

“No!” Kalrang shouted.

Krishna played his flute again.

Little Krishna plays his flute as its divine light pushes back Kalarang’s dark power.

WHOOSH!

The stolen colors rushed back across Vrindavan.

Green returned to the trees.

Bright colors returned to the flowers and birds.

The Yamuna became blue again.

Kalrang’s magic was broken. He could no longer steal the colors of nature.

The villagers cheered when Krishna returned.

Vrindavan was bright and beautiful once more.

Krishna smiled as colorful butterflies flew around him.

Little Krishna stands happily as Vrindavan becomes colorful and lively again.

The colors of Vrindavan were safe again.
